Dr. Amera Manzoor Rahman is a board certified psychiatrist. After receiving her psychiatry training from Rosalind Franklin Hospital, she went on to complete child and adolescent psychiatry training at TUFTS University in Boston. Since graduating from this very specialized and intensive training program, which also involved training at Harvard University, she started her career teaching at The University of Chicago. She has worked in inpatient hospitals as well as the private sector and has vast experience of treating patients of all ages. She specializes in ADHD, Autism Spectrum Disorders, Tourette’s Disorder, Bipolar Disorder, Depression, Anxiety, PTSD, Abuse/Trauma, phobias and panic disorders, both in adults and children.
She believes families are an integral part of childhood development and are an essential part of the treatment of any psychiatric illness. Families are always welcome to be part of treatment of children or adults. Due to her warm demeanor and pleasant personality, patients tend to develop an easy rapport and long-lasting therapeutic relationship. With her extensive experience, strong knowledge of all current medical practices and medications and empathic nature she has successfully treated hundreds of patients.
