Education

A 1995 graduate of the College of Human Medicine at Michigan State University, Dr Maxwell came to medicine and psychiatry following an early career of designing and leading therapeutic wilderness programs for at risk adolescents.
Dr. Maxwell completed his residency training in
psychiatry at Massachusetts General Hospital/Harvard Medical School and a fellowship in Child and Adolescent Psychiatry at Children’s Hospital of Boston. In his clinical practice, Dr. Maxwell specializes in treating challenging and treatment resistant cases, providing second opinions, and finding new approaches to treating anxiety and depression. In the past several years this has led him to incorporate novel treatments into his practice including the use of intravenous ketamine, and Transcranial Magnetic Stimulation (TMS).
