Dr. Robin Bitner is a board-certified psychiatrist licensed to practice medicine in the state of California. Dr. Bitner received a B.A. from Bates College and a M.D. from the University of California-Irvine, both with honors. She completed residency training in General Adult Psychiatry at the University of California-San Francisco (UCSF). Dr. Bitner provides outpatient treatment with a collaborative approach using psychotherapy (psychodynamic, supportive, CBT and mindfulness-based), psychopharmacology and/or transcranial magnetic stimulation (TMS).
In addition to her outpatient practice, Dr. Bitner is currently on staff at Marin General Hospital and treats patients in the intensive outpatient programs and in the hospital (consultation and inpatient stabilization). She also currently serves as a volunteer faculty member at UCSF and is involved in teaching in the residency training program.
Areas of specialty include: mood disorders (including bipolar disorder and treatment-resistant depression), anxiety disorders, attention deficit/hyperactivity disorder (ADHD), relationship issues, grief and loss, undergraduate and graduate student mental health, adjustments associated with major life transitions, stress management and women’s mental health (including perinatal and premenstrual difficulties).
