Education

A. Benjamin Eubanks, M.D., has more than 35 years of experience in the specialties of psychiatry and psychopharmacology. In addition to serving as medical director of TMS Centers of Atlanta, Dr. Eubanks is the founder, managing partner and a practicing physician of A. Benjamin Eubanks Associates, which specializes in the treatment of depression, anxiety, mood and eating disorders, ADD and ADHD, schizophrenia and other types of psychiatric disorders. Founded in 1977 and comprising three psychiatrists and one clinical psychologist, the Atlanta-based practice also provides relationship, family and general psychotherapeutic counseling.


Dr. Eubanks founded TMS Centers of Atlanta in 2010 to provide patients suffering from major depression with NeuroStar TMS Therapy, a new and proven alternative treatment for the condition. As medical director of the facility, he is responsible for determining patient indication, treatment protocol and course for the therapy, supervising its administration and safety, and establishing follow-up treatment.

Earlier in his practice, Dr. Eubanks served as Clinical Assistant Professor of Psychiatry and Director of Group Psychotherapy Training at Emory University, and also held the position of Medical Director at two Atlanta psychiatric hospitals. Prior to forming his practice, he served as Medical Director of the Central DeKalb Mental Health Center. Before that, Dr. Eubanks was Assistant Professor of Psychiatry in Group Psychotherapy Training at St. Elizabeth's Hospital in Washington, D.C.

A native Georgian from Dublin, Dr. Eubanks holds a Bachelor of Science from the University of Georgia, and a Doctorate of Medicine in psychiatry from the Medical College of Georgia, School of Medicine. He completed rotations in psychiatry at Columbia University College of Physicians and Surgeons in New York, and his residency training at The Sheppard Enoch Pratt Hospital in Baltimore, Maryland.
