My role as a Family Psychiatric Mental Health Nurse Practitioner is to work with adults and teens, as well as children and their families in the diagnosis and medication treatment to manage mental health symptoms. My goal is to provide a positive therapeutic relationship and serve to effectively help people to feel and function better. I work with patients who are diagnosed with Depression, Anxiety, Bipolar Disorder, PTSD, ADHD, Schizophrenia, and substance abuse. My education includes a Bachelor of Science in Psychology from Iowa State, a Bachelor of Science in Nursing from Allen College, and a Master of Science in Nursing from Allen College. I have worked in mental health in various capacities since 2003, including as a mental health outreach worker and an inpatient psychiatric nurse. Insurances with which I am currently credentialed include Wellmark Blue Cross Blue Shield, Aetna, CIGNA, and Medicare. I am full-time at the Ames office.

I am a Psychiatric Mental Health Nurse Practitioner based out of Ankeny, Iowa. With over 10 years of diverse experience in mental health. I currently accept the Medicare-approved amount for services.
