Dr. Mahmood Mehdi Kazmi MDDr. M.Mehdi Kazmi is a Neurologist and Psychiatrist. He trained in both specialties at Montefiore Medical Center, Albert Einstein College of Medicine. He is one of the founders of Regional Neurological Associates and has been in practice since 1995 in New York. In addition to general neurology and psychiatry he is particularly interested in medication resistant depression. He was included in the Best Doctors in New York listing in 1997, early in his practice years. As an educator, he has been honored and is widely regarded amongst his peers and students. “Patients who come to see me for treatment-resistant depression are suffering, often for a long time. Many feel isolated as if their family and loved ones don’t understand their suffering. In my first meeting with my patient, I think that it is important to restore their hope and faith, and show them options. Depression can be daunting, but it is important to me for my patients to know that I will be with them every step of the way.” Dr. Kazmi accepts a wide variety of insurance plans and is able to see new patients within a week at our Bronx office. He is fluent in Urdu, Hindi, Punjabi and Arabic.

Dr. Randall Berliner MDDr. Berliner is a psychiatrist and neurologist with decades of experience treating patients with depression. His unique perspective as a dually-boarded neuropsychiatrist adds an in-depth understanding of the neurobiology of depression and other psychiatric disorders. Combining that with an empathic approach, Dr. Berliner understands the pain that depressed patients experience. “It really bothers me when I have patients come in to see me that have been left on one medication for months or years, partially treated, and partially living their lives. I am invested in utilizing everything at my disposal to remove the burden of depression from my patients' lives. Nothing else is satisfactory!”
