Education

Leslie G. Smith, M.D. earned his medical degree at the University of Arkansas for Medical Sciences in Little Rock, Arkansas and is double boarded in Psychiatry and Addictions.

Associations

Leslie G. Smith, M.D. is the Executive Director and Medical Director of GAIN, Inc., an ACT (Assertive Community Treatment) and an outpatient behavioral health program that treats a multitide of client populations including the SMI, IDD/MH, forensic and dually diagnosed with co-occuring substance use disorders. Before the ArkSTART program ended, Dr. Smith was the medical director, and continues to be a consultant for The Center for START Services. Additionally, he is the medical director for Serenity Park Recovery Center and for Connections Behavioral Health, a division of Friendship Community Care, Inc. He is also the Chief Medical Officer at Inspiration Day Treatment. Dr. Smith also owns a private practice psychiatric clinic in Little Rock and Most recently, he started TMS Arkansas, a clinic that specializes in Transcrainial Magnetic Stimulation for the treatment of major depressive disorders. His passion to work with clients with complex psychiatric and pharmacological needs is evidenced by his continued collaboration with multiple agencies around the state.

Education

Whitney Emerson-Smith is a Licensed Professional Counselor in the State of Arkansas with over 15 years in the Developmental Disability and mental health fields. Previously, she was the Director of ArkSTART (a statewide initiative providing consultation and crisis services with IDD/MI) and was the Clinical Director for GAIN, Inc. Mrs. Emerson-Smith transitioned from managed care to reconnect daily with patients at TMS Arkansas. She has been in that position, developing the program from the ground up, since its inception in March of 2020 amid the Covid-19 outbreak. She currently coordinates patient care, manages and oversees TMS Arkansas and its expansion into 4 locations, Aavalon private clinic staff, and interfaces with three community mental health programs: Friendship, GAIN, and Inspirations. She continues to serve on the Board of Directors for GAIN, Inc. and she has also served as President for the Arkansas Counseling Association.
